Fundraising
CFST is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is run by a group of elected volunteers as the Board of Directors. Coaching staff are the only paid employees.
As with any non-profit, we rely heavily on fundraising, as well as volunteer hours from our swim families.
Annual Swim-a-thon (Digital fundraiser)
Swimmers will challenge those in their lives to donate a certain amount per lap that they swim, or a flat donation. We will hold the swim-a-thon at Les Mason Park on Whitefish Lake, where we hope to have a fun celebratory atmosphere for the kids to participate in. Each swimmer is asked to generate at least $200 for the fundraiser; any funds raised in excess will qualify the swimmer for some big prizes.
Our highest earners in 2025 earned swim passes to Big Sky Water Park, summer gear donated by local sports shops, free coffee shop and ice cream vouchers.

Everything costs more. Fundraising helps to keep our registration costs low. Funds earned go to non-profit incidentals, federation fees & insurance, City of Columbia Falls fees, recruitment of experienced coaching staff, team shirts, State Qualifier SWAG, team equipment (flippers, kickboards, etc.), swimmerships, end-of-year closing ceremony, ribbons/awards, and so much more.
